With Blumer-Lehmann’s specialists on site all systems are go for craning in the remainder of the prayer hall walls and piercing the door and window points. The mother-and-child space is now clearly visible to the left of the frame. At the rear of the site (not in view) the gabion wall element is now complete.
Here is a unique interview with Othman Llewellyn of the Saudi Wildlife Authority, recorded at the historic Dar al Islam Mosque in Abiquiu, New Mexico, in which Llewellyn explains Islam’s teachings on the environment and the need for sustainability in mosque design.
On 5th September the first sections of the wall of the prayer hall were lifted into place! For the first time visitors receive a good impression of the height of the mosque. The panels are made of cross-laminated timber (CLT), and will be faced with decorative bricks.
