Work on the timber elements of the prayer hall is now complete, and the studwork partitions for the male and female ablution areas are in place. This week the master-craftsmen of Blumer-Lehmann begin work on the ‘trees’ of our magnificent atrium, together with the teaching zone and the cafeteria.
Last Thursday the Blumer-Lehmann team led a ‘topping out’ ceremony to celebrate the hoisting into place of our feature dome. A heavy-duty crane was hired for the occasion and the delicate operation passed off without a hitch. The dome is fabricated from cross-laminated timber harvested from sustainably-managed forests.
