The first complete ‘crown’ element has been erected by the Blumer-Lehmann team. It was assembled at ground level and craned into place on top of four pillars, fitting exactly with a tolerance of less that one millimetre! Precision engineering indeed. Visitors now receive an awe-inspiring sense of the majesty of Cambridge’s newest monument.

Wall Erection Ongoing
With Blumer-Lehmann’s specialists on site all systems are go for craning in the remainder of the prayer hall walls and piercing the door and window points. The mother-and-child space is now clearly visible to the left of the frame. At the rear of the site (not in view) the gabion wall element is now complete.
Wall Erection Begins
On 5th September the first sections of the wall of the prayer hall were lifted into place! For the first time visitors receive a good impression of the height of the mosque. The panels are made of cross-laminated timber (CLT), and will be faced with decorative bricks.
