Mission Statement

Unity | Peace | Beauty

The Cambridge Mosque Trust is the first purpose-built mosque in Cambridge, UK and is dedicated to the spiritual and social welfare of the city’s estimated six thousand Muslims, including many visiting students. It will also serve as a cultural bridge fostering greater understanding between communities and have a strong educational component, providing an infrastructure and support for learning and research. As a major international city, Cambridge deserves a proper facility for Muslims which will enhance its prestige and provide an architectural focus attracting new visitors.

The Cambridge Mosque Trust will not follow or expect adherence to any particular school of Islam and will welcome worshippers from every part of the Muslim family, of both genders.

Reflecting Islam’s contribution to contemporary debates over sustainability, the mosque will incorporate significant design features which will minimise carbon emission and emphasise the role of faith in promoting responsible management of the earth’s resources.
